About Landrum Washington Legacy Scholarship Fund, Inc
The Landrum Washington Legacy Scholarship Fund, Inc was established January 2012. Minister Landrum Washington was a 22 year old college student attending Benedict College at the time of his very untimely death. This Fund was established in his memory to carry on his legacy. Landrum devoted his short life to helping others by sharing his love for music and his love for God. Each time a scholarship is awarded to a student, honor is given to God in sending such a wonderful and unique individual to live on this earth. Landrum Washington was truly a man of God who cared for and loved his fellowman. To this date, 24 scholarships have been awarded ranging from $250.00 to $500.00. This Fund was initially called the Landrum Washington Christian Leadership and Musical Scholarship and has been expanded to include educational workshops and community involvements. Currently this Fund is open to any high school graduate pursuing a college degree at any accredited college.
Minister Washington is also remembered at his Alma Mater, Benedict College. A memorial scholarship has been established in Minister Washington's name to award scholarships to upper classmen majoring in Music or Religion. To date over $5000 have been award to students pursuing such majors. You may contact Benedict College for additional information on this scholarship.

I Am With You Still
I give you this one thought to keep--
I am with you still; I do not sleep. I am a thousand
winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the
gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the
morning's hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush of
quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that
shine at night Do not think of me as gone; I am
with you still--in each new dawn.
